University Physics
Physics 1 (Mechanics)
The calculus-based first physics course of engineering and science programmes: motion, forces, energy and rotation.
Curriculum / Syllabus
- Vectors and Kinematics in One and Two Dimensions
- Newton's Laws and Their Applications
- Work, Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy
- Conservation of Energy
- Momentum, Impulse and Collisions
- Rotational Kinematics and Dynamics
- Angular Momentum, Equilibrium and Oscillations
Exam & Course Strategy
Exams are problem-based. The decisive step is the setup: drawing the free-body diagram and choosing the right principle (forces, energy or momentum). We practise this until it becomes a habit.
